Life update

The past week has been great. I trained a lot, like a lot, and then headed back home with my sister on Sunday to surprise my mom for Rakhi.

I always call my mom, first thing in the morning. It’s a habit we’ve always had growing up, and in moments when we stayed away from family.

Usually, I’ll talk about 3 times at least with my family each day. So I did the same thing on Sunday, trying to be all cool.

Not making it look like I’m getting late and I have to leave. But once I reached my hometown Ajmer, my mom figured it out.

Parents’ intuition is something else. Within 10 minutes, she connected all the dots, how my sister and I talked to her in the morning, what we were wearing, my missed call to my dad, all of it.

Still a surprise, but she had it figured out lol.

Nonetheless, I took it super easy back home. Just did maintenance work, and made sure the launch of “Expert Creator Blueprint”, went as planned.

Recently I’ve been enjoying the moment a lot, work isn’t forced anymore. It flows now. Whether it’s the agency, content, or anything else I’m working on.

I have increased gratitude towards daily life. I try to enjoy it, more than I used to.

I have it written on a sticky note back home, “When you’re working, work, when you’re done, be done”.

This genuinely helps me stay present in the moment. I don’t yet know how to describe this feeling, but it’s awesome. You should try it.

I came back on Wednesday and have been catching up on everything. Usually, I would somehow make it stressful, but not anymore.

Writing this newsletter 20 minutes before its actual planned launch schedule each week, but not that big of a deal.

Will finish this in 30 minutes and go make my coffee and read A Man’s Search for Meaning.

Moving on…

Build your life with projects over a single career.

In my final year of college, I faced a choice. I could settle for a below-mediocre job, not even sure if I could be eligible for one with my grades. Or try something of my own.

We’re conditioned to believe this is the "right" path, building something of your own feels like a taboo in our society.

You’re encouraged to go the long route, get a job, promotions, and a 10% salary hike every 2 years, and just live off of this linear trajectory.

Although, being serious, I never even understood placements (genuinely I didn’t understand the salary structure, etc lol).

I was terrified of this idea, but I didn’t quit college. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science.

However, I said fuck it, and Instead of locking myself with this idea of a singular career, I started freelancing and launched a white-label agency in my final year.

With the help of friends, who were a blessing throughout those years. We developed websites, did video editing, produced courses for fitness trainers, created content and even ads that were boosted on IG, and I shared half of the money with them.

Over the next four years, I didn’t settle into a job but took on projects.

I was a freelancer, video editor, remote closer, DM closer, and head of content at AOS Media, and scaled my agency, Metro Media House. I also built two personal brands along the way.

(Not like I thought of this idea of being project-focused back then, it’s me connecting the dots now).

Each role was project-focused, with a clear beginning and end. Unlike the linear growth of a traditional career, these projects allowed me to rapidly gain diverse skills and experience, pivot when necessary, and grow exponentially.

The project-based mindset isn’t about taking on random tasks. It’s about choosing projects that align with your goals, learning from each one, and using that knowledge to take on the next, bigger challenge.

The new wealth creation is done by the ideas of creators.

We live in an age where ideas are the new oil. In the past, generational wealth was built through tangible resources like real estate, supply chains, and whatever traditional business you can think of.

Those methods still work, and I respect traditional businesses highly.

Today, with the internet, a new segment of wealth creation has been created towards intangible assets like programming, books, blogs, podcasts, videos, and digital products.

The first wave of this shift was dominated by platforms big companies like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These giants laid the foundation, but now we’ve entered a new era.

We can stand on the shoulders of these giants. Keep all the conspiracy BS aside, these are unfair advantages you can develop if you use them.

I’ve talked about the creator-founder way of business, it’s huge, and it’s only going to get bigger over time. We’re still in the early times of it!

We are in the age of personal brands.

Initially, social media content was mainly for entertainment. However, as the landscape evolved, educational content began to take center stage.

Today, people are not only consuming but also creating educational content, building careers around their projects, obsessions, hell even hobbies, and reaching millions of people online.

This mission starts with you. It begins with exploring your curiosities.

Not like you’ll find this from nowhere, you have to make your curiosity and your way of pursuing it valuable for other people!

You experiment and dive deep into the process, and along the way, you might struggle and fail. But these failures are just stepping stones.

Eventually, you reach the goals you set out to achieve, but that’s the beginning.

From there, you create solutions, help others, and build movements and missions. If you never start, you remain at square one.

I am a few steps ahead of someone who has not even started or is looking for their initial bits of progress.

Every day, I realize the power of having a personal brand. I made a video yesterday that I’ll schedule on YouTube 2-3 months from now. Where I documented my raw thoughts about the scale of opportunity this idea, then a project of my personal brand gave me.

The next wave of billionaires will be individual creators. Look at examples like Mr. Beast, Kylie Jenner, KSI, Logan Paul, Markeplier, etc.

People who have mastered the direct-to-customer business model. They own their audience and have the data to sell products at scale.

In a world where AI is automating repetitive tasks, the most valuable currency will be authenticity and creativity. Those who possess unique skills and knowledge that no AI can replicate will thrive.

By being true to yourself, you escape competition because no one else can be you. This is the new frontier of wealth creation, driven by ideas and individual authenticity.

I wasn’t meant to build my place in the online world, yet it happened because there’s no saturation and authenticity trumps everything.

Build distribution, then build whatever you want.

Once, building a product and then searching for an audience was the norm. Now, it's building an audience first and then creating the solutions they need.

Today code and media are permissionless leverage.

Naval on Twitter

Permissionless leverage means you can build your own distribution without seeking anyone else’s promotion.

Post that video, tweet, article, newsletter, etc. Who’s stopping you?

1) Media

In today’s world, anyone can build an audience using permissionless media, the front end of the internet.

Media is how we communicate, educate, entertain, and inspire others.

It's the tool to build an audience, share your knowledge, and create value.

Start by building something public on Twitter, Instagram, or a YouTube channel. Share your curiosities and learn along the way.

At the very least, you’ll develop modern skills that can land you a high-paying job. I can lose everything I have today, and just this personal brand can land me a nice creative strategist job at any company.

At best, you'll create a system-based project that provides financial freedom down the line. Hopefully.

2) Code

Technology, particularly coding, is the backbone of media.

It structures and houses all the content and products of the digital economy. Learning to code can be a gateway to opportunities for jobs, projects, and eventually, entrepreneurship.

Coding skills allow you to build your platforms, giving you the tools to turn your media skills into a business.

I always think about how overpowered Saksham would be with this current skill set and coding. Mad.

My Journey

My entire business journey was born out of a desire to prove to my younger self that success was possible. I started by freelancing, not knowing where it would lead. I made mistakes, and learned hard lessons, but ultimately built a personal brand and an agency.

To build your digital leverage:

  • Identify a problem in your life.

  • Set a goal that aligns with your purpose.

  • Experiment with solutions until you find what works.

  • Share your journey publicly.

  • Offer your solutions as a service.

Everyone is an entrepreneur; the only difference is whether you get paid for solving problems. Now is the time to start building your digital leverage.

Here’s where I plug my info-product.

If you’re a freelancer, agency owner, or aspiring entrepreneur looking to build your brand on Instagram, and want to get customers/high-paying clients, making it a lifetime asset. This is for you.

I didn’t hold anything back. 13 hours of recorded modules already, 3-5 hours of new ones launching soon.

This is everything I do to make money for my agency and my brand.

The best part, people in any niche can use these systems. I’d love to have you in!

Resources of the week.

  1. Currently reading “22 Immutable Laws of Marketing” on the side. Really good read.

  2. I always come back to this podcast and have a listen here and there. Probably the only podcast I’ve listened to multiple times: 23 Harsh Truths Nobody Wants To Admit - Alex Hormozi (4K)
