I Could Chill All Day, But I won't: Mini Stories #4
When your worst-case becomes a comfortable life, the real game begins.
This is going to be a quick one.
Want to share some things that have been happening over the past few weeks.
As we continue scaling, those monthly revenue numbers I used to dream about are in sight.
I won’t share numbers for now, I will when I feel it’s right.
My agency, Metro Media House is now getting to a point where we can’t work with more clients, unless we create another team within the company.
And that’s good.
It gives us flexibility to now:
Work on existing client results.
Hire smartly. Hire the right talent for specific use cases.
Build a pipeline of clients that will predictably onboard in the coming weeks, with contracts signed and a booking fee.
Raise pricing, and work on bigger projects with smaller amount of deliverables and grow by selling more to existing customers, increasing LTV.
Build more referral schemes and newer projects.
And much more
In the beginning everyone usually struggles to find consistent projects. As they’re building their proof of work.
To scale things further.
And if you stay consistent with everything, it gets to a point where you can’t handle more work.
Safe to say, it took me right around 2 years of running my agency to get to this point. One year and 11 months in particular.
People often tend to think that this stage comes in 3 months. As they’re sold by their gurus.
You already learnt a lot about misconceptions and myths about the agency business in my last newsletter.
Not repeating the same topics here.
I want to share a bit about what’s been happening in the last few weeks as I have been at the best possible points with my agency.
My documentation through content is really vulnerable.
If you go through my past newsletters or even videos, you’ll see a pattern of me talking about topics that are more failure oriented as I was experiencing those failures in my life too.
Specially the newsletters had every single detail about everything that has happened. So safe to say, I have to document the better times as well.
So since last week, there have been days, with a lot of tasks in my to-do list.
However, none of them were “too essential in the moment”.
What I mean is, even if they were done several days later, it would have been fine.
There was no time crunch.
The team already does a great job in taking care of clients, where I hardly have to get involved in the process.
So my work is to grow things. Get more sales. Build better relationships with existing clients.
Take on bigger projects by getting sample work created (Yes I still do it). Build referral schemes as now we have more inbound and referral clients than outbound.
I could complete all the essential work in 2 hours max, and just chill the entire day.
Like I did on Tuesday. A great friend is here for a few days, so after training I just decided to not work, take one sales call and chill with them till 2am.
Then complete all my work by 5pm on Wednesday and go grab a few drinks with the guys again.
Come back, take the journey club guest session with Jathin, talk to the team during night time, fall asleep watching camping videos.
And the same was today, I woke up, and I had nothing urgent to work on.
So I decided to work more on our client delivery process. Find the bottlenecks, and hire better people to make things better.
Then I’m working on changing some ways around how I do content. Focus on the journey club. Plan other things and still get crazy output with work.
Everything that I do apart from the essentials, is growth. And it takes time.
I know there will be failures in future, I’m prepared for most of them. I’ve seen the worst side of running an agency already in the last 2 years. There’s nothing that could happen that would catch me off guard lol.
Base level has increased. Track record and relationship with clients speak for itself.
I now have to change my way of working, to be even higher level.
All of these systems do not mean that I can rest all day and do nothing.
If work went behind building momentum, you bet I’ll try to get 10x out of it.
The thinking has always been, that now I have spent over 5 years in the online space, there are things to see that I have worked for.
And if it means pushing further during the best times. Then we’ll do exactly that.
Before the takeaway, I want to show gratitude for a long time sponsor of this newsletter, 1440 media. Check them out.

Takeaway:
You’ve seen my agency being built in real time. Everything was built in front of you guys.
And I want to show you all that things are possible if you give enough time and relentless effort into them.
Obsess over growth, not quick money.
Obsess over results, not quick money.
Obsess over client relationships, not quick money.
Obsess over creating systems, not quick money.
Money is a tool. Earn it, build better systems to make yourself more money.
Sort out your basic expenses and save a bit.
Then create a playground for yourself. Think of it like GTA.
You don’t spend unnecessary money on weapons once you have enough of it, you do stupid shit to have fun.
You don’t worry about the money, you know you’ll make it back.
Well don’t do stupid shit here, but lead that freedom of mind make you chase your curiosities so you can see things that you usually would not.
If you’re anxious about doing all of it, reframe it in this way:
“My worst case is a comfortable life, what do I have to lose with this extra bit? Nothing.”
Whenever I have to make any hard decisions, I talk to my parents and think about this same thing.
Decisions become easier. Whether they pay off or not.
It closes an open loop of “what if?” in your brain.
Things work, great! They don’t, no issues.
Travel. Work with better people. Educate yourself more. Buy something for your loved ones. Go have a great expensive dinner. Do something for others.
If you want to innovate, and try new things in work, who is stopping you?
That’s the good side of running a business like this.
Quick update (Important):
I’m closing Expert Creator Blueprint, my product where I have taught hundreds of people how to build personal brands so they can get clients with cold DMs 48 hours from now.
It won’t be open for anyone new from Saturday, 24th May.
The members inside will get lifetime access to all the modules, resources, previous QnAs and our discord server. Where I come in time to time to help people out.
As we’re going all in on the journey club, this is the decision that we moved forward with.
If you’re inside ECB you’ll get 50% off on the membership subscription for the journey club. Only if you’re an ECB member.
I won’t transfer anything from ECB to JC. So the modules remain exclusive, always.
That’s why I’m giving a 20% discount to join ECB use code “Last”
